Saturday started out with going from store to store to store for shorts -- because apparently here i am HUGE LMFAO -- its like not going into certain stores because i know already that nothing will fit -- but i go in anyways just to see haha
anyways i ended up finding 2 pairs of shorts
and today we are going to another (bigger) mall --- to get clothes -- this mall is apparently really big :P
so anyways i also need to get some clothes ... as in like shirts and a bathing suit cover :)
also saturday night i went to Karla friends house where we all had crapes with jam and whipped cream :)
Sunday we went to visit family -- we ended up making EMPANADAS :D -- i loved them -- this time it wasnt just cheese it was meat, eggs, veggies and some other things --- they tasted really really good :D -- heres 2 pics of empanada making

MONDAY
and i wrote this on my cell phone as we were on our way to the resort ---
So it's a 6 hour drive to the beach - thought it was only 3 Well ill start with the fact that 2 of the first 3 hours was an endless twisting and turning cliff of death ... Twas kind of scary yet awesome :)
- we stopped at kfc for .... Well breakfast lunch like thing I guess - there's two big coach busses if us exchange students full .. I felt bad for them , the workers I mean
as we were driving through the mountains , I felt so bad - the amount of stick and mud houses out numbers my counting abilities (in spanish anyways) -
I tried to take a few pictures but most turned out horrible seeing as we have been going about 70 ish km per hour the whole time .... The first hour until the twisting and turning I was standing up talking to a bunch of people - I think I built up alot of muscle trying to stand still Now every time we go through a small village or community there are these speed bumps on the road -
the first half of the trip (until kfc) was fine - but the second half I sat in the back - one seat from the back - I don't think I have ever bounced so much in my life haha
But one bonus is every time I looked out the window it was the most amazing landscape ever :) it's gorgeous :)
- One thing I could not get over is how poor alot of the people are here ... Driving through one area.there were some children without clothes in their backs or shoes on their feet.. There are so many little home made huts that I guess are their houses , Rickety bridges that conjoin two villages over a huge ravine ... The most astonishing thing is that there are power lines running two one or two buildings that look amazing compared to the rest of the villages... These are the hotels, I guess they hope to get some profit from these.. ...
As we kept driving I looked over to a mountain ... Well I guess just another hill - and the clouds were covering the top like a sheet and rolling down over the tops of the trees... I noticed that there are alotof vally's - and there are almost always rivers at the bottom - which gets my attention haha
From the bottom to the top of all the hills there's always this little path way that reminds me if when I tried cross country about this time last year - and how I completely failed at it lol Yet these people do that every day
Also the trees are gorgeous - it's almost like a rain forrest here - so many different kinds But one things for sure I want to congratulate our bus driver for not killing us ..
although I was sure he was going to when we passed slow cars and there was on coming cars
Also when we passed through the twisty road -
as I'm writing this I'm not sure if I want to go back the same way - one thing is for sure - they needNeed a big gigantic road that goes strait through the mountains :)
And then - I COULD SEE WATER Reminds us that there is hope of no more bumps :)
6 hours and we are finally here :)
(on the bus) -- half of us stood up for about an hour
-- talking to each other
so this was the view from the bus on the twisting turning road of death
half way through was the fog
i still feel bad for the kfc workers
some houses
just lucas creeping on courtney and julia
bus #1
julia (germany) and courtney (canada)
just a few people in the back :)
the houses of villages we passed by on the way
more houses
this was a house on the hill
i liked the way it was
so i tried to get a good picture but i couldn't seeing
as how i was behind glass
more people in the back -- telling stories
-- and "kawabunga dude"
we stopped off at a gas station -- where i was the last person back on the buss
i wanted my "nachos and agua"
Later that day we finally got to our resort
walking up the road -- didnt want to do the stairs-
i turned back and took this picture
the white thing with a brown roof that was the lobby`
the door way to our room -- on the right
there is a door that leads into a bathroom with HOT WATER :D
our room :)
that was the picture above the bed --- completely terrifying
so here is the 100 stairs --- no joking
we counted them - and we didn't count from the beach up
just from the main level -- so not the food place either
we had already walked up about 20 or 30 steps when i took this pic
the tide was slowly going down
this area of sand is completely covered with water
before 9am and after about 4 or 5pm
i really love this picture
the sand water carved this weird pattern out of the sand
i just really like it :)
"Kayla Egas YEP 2012"
and thats morgan standing behind lol
morgan :)
so morgan decided to blow the bubbles from the stream haha
ME :D and the PACIFIC :D
Astrid me Morgan
morgan
Astrid
Astrid Morgan Me
the tide was down and i took this from the island
it kinda looked like a tree
mini tide pool
me -- standing in front of the "no trespassing" sign
morgan and i.
we went for a dip.
she got stung.
we went back to our rooms haha
red and white flag
the tide was coming back in
on the left by that little white dot
i took pictures on the sand there about 1 hour before
never seen a moth that big before
he made it do a 360
our wrist bands that had to be cut off -- but i got to keep it anyways
Spanish class got boring ..... so morgan did this to me
with my markers and her book
i took this from the island
this is what our resort looked like :D
from the island :)
just a jelly fish
ITS A HORSE --- i didnt go on it because
they bring you to the one end and in order for them
to bring you back you have to pay them money
out morgans balcony
MY PEN -- that i used all week -- thank you Julianne :) (IZZY)
this is a boat full of exchange students
they took us over a 30 m far river -- which i would have swam but it was red flag
i swore the boat was going to tip several times
all you could hear is WWWOOOOOAAAAHHHHH about 10 times
CANADA
TEXAS
just morgan and a sand castle -- that she did not make
a fish - that was dragged up onto shore by the currant and died
this thing was HUGE ... it may look little but its not
its sideways but this is out 7 bowls of ice cream -- there was 5 of us --
they took away the other 4 or 5 when we went to get more
so idk what happened with the pictures -- but the one below was our table half cleared
on the way home this is what you could see
got board in the bus- i crocheted without a needle :D
kfc on the way home --- THEY HAVE A PLAY PLACE
but it was for 8 and under -- i looked
the bus half filled from kfc
CANADA
oh and heres a better picture of the jelly fish
and my eye
and here is -- almost all of us -- one of 2 was missing but still it was awesome :)
a few flags were missing but oh well
it was mostly made up of USA, CANADA, and GERMANY ..... and then a few other awesome countries thrown in there
oh also night 2 we had a HUGE water ... pollo... soccer... or something
game -- Europe against "other" haha :D
i think "other" won but i am not sure
i ended up leaving -- but it got quite aggressive -- i had scratches and everything
but it was soooooo fun :D
Lastly i started my first day of school on the 7th :)
i hate the picture but what ever --- lol
you have 2 shirts
and you have to wear blue jeans -- i wore black
they didnt care because it was only day one haha
but i am going shopping this weekend HOPEFULLY for school supplies :)
and that is it - that is my week in a nutshell :D
Just love all the pictures. It looks soooo beautiful there. I bet you had a sore bottom after this 6 hour ride. The resort that you stayed at was beautiful. That's alot of exchange students there. Keep up the good work of picture taking. Looking good on your first day of school. So proud of you Kayla. Love Mom
