as im doing this --- my host parents got my TV working and it had children's shows in spanish :)
the beginning of our day started with empanadas and eggs :)... oh and mom was right about tea helping my tummy :)
After breakfast went to see the virgin statue...
this is me - in front of the statue,
the virgin is on a snake, and the snake is on a leash
which the virgin is holding, this is supposed to protect Quito
The statue is like the Jesus statue in Brazil.
this was under the statue -- it collects rain, and they used to say that there was treasure buried there
me in front of quito
the inside of the rain collector
inside were paintings of the inkas
the tunnel
on the was down from the virgin statue
there was a brush fire, it was very bad
The fire men to the rescue :)

We were up there :D
When looking from the other side you could see the statue through this heart
Patricio (host father) and I
Baptism bowl
Me in front of quito
We walked across this to get to the top of the church (basilica)
Completely terrified...
Karla and I
In front of the terrifying path way
my favorite painting (la luna)
A paining that looks difficult to paint
the coca-cola bottles are different
